Outward extension single family home

Sun into the roosm

Energy-efficient: In Formigine in the province of Modena, a private client renovated a residential building from the early 1960s in 2019/2020 to make it more energy-efficient and added a single-storey wooden house from LignoAlp. The two buildings were connected and certified with the Klimahaus seal.

The existing building was a large detached house built in the traditional style with oil heating. It was completely refurbished and thermally insulated, the technical systems and the façades were completely renewed and the existing house was labelled "CasaClima R". LignoAlp realised the extension above ground as a timber frame construction and insulated it with natural cellulose. Additional wood fibre insulation was installed on the outside. LignoAlp prefabricated the wall elements to a high degree and delivered them to the construction site, including insulation and window elements. The two buildings were connected and the inner courtyard was equipped with a garden. The new building is certified as a "CasaClima A".
